In recent years, the real estate sector in Spain has experienced sustained growth. Positive figures and a marked recovery after the financial crisis of 2008 make this market a great investment opportunity.
A Financial Times publication highlights that «while other European real estate markets are experiencing price declines (a cumulative fall of 2.5% in Germany in the second half of 2022, for example), the foundations of the Spanish market point to growth.»

According to the 2024 version of the «European Investor Intentions Survey«, conducted by the commercial real estate investment and services company CBRE, Spain ranks fourth among the top 10 European countries most attractive to investors, after the United Kingdom, Germany, and Poland.
It is noteworthy in this report that Spain is the only country with two cities, Madrid and Barcelona, in the 3rd and 7th place in the ranking of the top 10 favorite European cities for investment.
It is also worth noting that one of the reasons investors cite for preferring Spain is the advances the country is making in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria, as well as in digitalization.
Does the Iberian country have attractive opportunities for Chileans?
Everything indicates that it does. By 2022, a majority of national investors are directing their interest abroad: 80%, to be exact, with amounts close to US$10 billion. Additionally, around 10% of Chileans living abroad are in Spain.
It is also impossible to ignore the fact that in 2023, the European Union updated its Trade Agreement with Chile, which undoubtedly brings advantages for any investor interested in the Iberian country.
