AIM Global welcomes the launch of Argentina's Citizenship by Investment Program

For immediate release · Paris, October 2, 2026

Paris, October 2, 2026: AIM Global, the South American firm specialized in investment migration, welcomes today's announcement by Argentina's Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, of the launch of Argentina's Citizenship by Investment Program, the first in South America. The Program is expected to be operational and ready to receive applications in the fourth quarter of 2026. Argentine citizenship brings the strongest passport available through investment, reaching 169 destinations without a prior visa, with no obligation to live in the country.

AIM Global is a founding member of Argentina Mobility for Investment and Global Opportunity Limited (AMIGO), a group of five leading investment migration firms (Arton Capital, Latitude Group, Passport Legacy, AIM Global and Apex Capital Partners) that has been advising the Argentine government on the Program's design and implementation, at no cost to the Argentine State.

Within AMIGO, AIM Global is the Latin American member. Its founder and management are based in South America, and its Buenos Aires office keeps it close to the Program and its stakeholders. The firm contributes its legal, tax and regulatory specialization to help structure a program that is attractive to investors and legally resilient across multiple jurisdictions.

“Argentina was built by people who chose it as their home. This Program opens that door to families around the world, through a rigorous process designed to protect the value of Argentine citizenship. As the Latin American member of AMIGO, we bring the region's legal expertise to a program built on the highest international standards.”

Two routes to apply

Route A

Treasury contribution

USD 350,000

A direct, non-refundable contribution of USD 350,000 to the National Treasury, for the principal applicant. It is a requirement to apply, not an investment, and it is never returned.

Route B

Government bond

USD 800,000

The purchase of a USD 800,000 government bond created specifically for the Program. Maturity and interest will be set out in the regulations.

Family members apply separately and always through the Treasury route, even when the principal applicant chooses the bond: USD 100,000 for the spouse, USD 100,000 for each child aged 18 to 25 who is unmarried and has no children of their own, and USD 25,000 for each child under 18. Parents do not qualify. For a principal applicant, a spouse and two children under 18, the total is USD 500,000.

A rigorous evaluation

Making a qualifying investment does not grant citizenship: it is a requirement to apply. The Agency for Citizenship by Investment Programs evaluates each application, with the State Intelligence Secretariat (SIDE), the Financial Information Unit (UIF) and the Ministry of Security, under due diligence aligned with OECD and FATF recommendations; the National Directorate of Migration approves or rejects it. All decisions rest with the Argentine authorities.
