How Does It Work?

Each country has its own laws regarding citizenship by descent:

Italy
There is no generational limit. If you can prove an unbroken line from an Italian ancestor born after the unification of Italy (1861), you can apply for citizenship.
Spain
The Democratic Memory Law (known as the "Grandchildren Law") allows descendants of Spaniards to apply for nationality until October 2025, including children and grandchildren of original Spaniards.
Croatia
Following the 2020 reforms, requirements such as language proficiency have been eliminated, making the process easier for descendants of Croatians without generational limits.
